April Newsletter

Hello Happy Crafters

Hope you're all well

It feels like I've not sent a newsletter out for ages...that's probably because I havn't! This is mostly because I've been busy doing other things, but I've now got a new programme of Creative workshops that might be of interest to you.

My Make and Take Craft Group is continuing on the 2nd & 4th Friday of each month at Horse Carrs Coffee Shop, but I am now pleased to announce that from 17th April, which is the 3rd Friday of each month, I will be running an additional group at Fresh From The Studio, on Church Street in Littleborough.

Friday 10th April 10am - 12noon
at Horse Carrs Coffee Shop, Shawclough Road, Rochdale
Cost is £5 and includes all crafting materials and tuition.
Make & Take a Decorative Flower
We will be making a decorative flower from yarn which you can use in many ways such as an embellishment in card making, in sewing and knitting projects or just wear it as a brooch.

Friday 17th April 10am - 12noon
at Fresh From The Studio, Church Street, Littleborough, Rochdale   Cost is £5 and includes all crafting materials and tuition.
Make & Take this adorable Felt Fox. Isn't he gorgeous and how can you possibly resist?!

By popular demand we will also be making the Felt Fox on
Friday 24th April 10am -12noon
at Horse Carrs Coffee Shop, Shawclough Road, Rochdale

In February, I ran a bracelet and earring making workshop at Fresh From The Studio.
Everyone had a lovely time and I was blessed with having such wonderful ladies to teach.
They went home with some lovely pieces they had made all by themselves.
This workshop was very popular and I've been asked to repeat it.
The date of my next Bangles & Beads Workshop
will be on  Saturday, 30th May from 10am - 12.30pm
at , Church Street, Littleborough
Places are limited to 7 and costs just £20,
which includes all crafting materials, tuition and refreshments
This is a very popular workshop, so it is essential that you reserve a place
and will require a £10 non-refundable deposit.
Please email me at TLCBoxCo@hotmail.co.uk

Last month, I ran a Journal Making class at Fresh From The Studio.
Everyone had a wonderful time and we made a handful of journals
using a variety of materials and techniques.
Here we are preparing our pages for a Japanese style mini journal.
I will probably repeat this workshop again later in the year.
If you're interested in coming, please let me know.

If you're on Facebook, it would be lovely if you could Like and share The Little Craft Box Company page.  Also,  if you know anyone who is interested in coming, please let them know about it.
It would be lovely to see some old faces too...you're always welcome!

On the 25th April some friends of mine are holding a Spring Fair to raise funds for the  Tiyamike Orphanage in Malawi.  One of these friends goes out there at least once a year to visit and to see for herself how the donations benefit the beautiful children there.  It would be lovely if you could come along and support this worthwhile cause.

Oh...and a quick plug for my Beads From The Art

I've not got anything in my Etsy Shop at the moment.  However, I do have some beautiful pieces in  in Littleborough.  If you've not been to visit this wonderful gallery, you really should.  It is filled with lots of amazing arts and crafts by local crafts men and women.  I also have some of my jewellery and map magnets at Touchstones in Rochdale and I'm having a stall at the Spring Fair at Horse Carrs on the 25th April (see picture above).

In the meantime, Happy Crafting and hope to see you soon!

Show & Tell

At every session of our Craft Group, we have Show & Tell.  This can be something you've created yourself; some new art or craft products or equipment you've bought; an exhibition, craft event or shop you've discovered or a craft book or magazine you've been reading.  In fact anything of a crafty nature.  Come along and show and tell us!

Planned Projects

include making lavender sachets, doodle art, gift boxes, weaving, patchwork, handmade journals and notebooks, embroidered hand art, fabric flower brooches, jewellery making, shrink plastic, upcycling and much more.  In between workshops there may be opportunities for gallery and museum visits, trips to craft shows and other specialised workshops.

Art Journalling & Crochet Workshops???

You don't have to be good at drawing and painting to make an art journal.  They are a cross between a written diary (journal), a scrapbook and a sketch book.  If anyone is interested in making their own art journal, please let me know.

I've also been asked about running some crochet workshops, if you're keen to learn to crochet or any other crafting skill, please let me know.

Did you know...
that if there's a particular project you've missed or there's something you've always wanted to learn how to make, then just let me know and there may be an opportunity to repeat a workshop or I can create a workshop to fit in with your requirements.
